Freevalve is a cutting-edge technology company developing a cam-less combustion engine solution with fully variable valve train operation. As a sister company to Koenigsegg Automotive, Freevalve is in the same pursuit of creating the engine of the future – both for Koenigsegg and a very select external clientele. The person we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is capable of leading our mechanical design activities. Ideally, that would be an individual with a great passion for cars, engines and technology. The person needs to be a go-getter with the initiative and an inspiring drive to develop and cultivate him/herself within the team. That means someone who’s also a good listener and who knows when to put his/her own ego aside to trust the teams’ judgment as well. Needless to say, working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial company must excite you.
The Role & Responsibilities – Mechanical Design Team Lead
We expect you to contribute to the development of the technological package and aid in the transition of the product from research and working prototypes to production levels used in higher volumes. This also includes assisting with testing, validation and industrialization. Probably you will work with your own CAD designs about 50 % of the time, while the rest will be spent on planning and organisation, utilizing PDM system, planning with task management tool, leading design FMEA and be responsible for bill of material and prototype component inventory.
We already have a team of experts within various niche areas on hand, with the possibility of employing other specialists, so you don’t need to know-it-all. You must however be experienced and skilled enough to help the team develop the product at a rapid pace. You will be intellectually and technically challenged along the way, and be expected to add knowledge and experience to the team from day one.
Given plenty of interaction of various specialised sub-suppliers, whereof a majority in Sweden, it is a benefit if you already have estblised relationship within this group and is Swedish speaking.
- Professionally Fluent in the English language
- Minimum 10 years of relevant, full time, experience
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking and dynamic ever-changing environment

- Basic understanding of engines and how they work
- Proficient with Solid Works
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience from working on small electro-mechanical systems
