Test Engineer

Job Description:

Work on a highly intelligent, lightweight and motivated team to achieve our goal of revolutionizing the combustion engine with Freevalve technology. As a Test Engineer for Freevalve, you will follow test programs to ensure that the system and components are achieving performance and durability targets to secure successful engine test programs for customers. You are expected to install and set up test rigs, operate test rigs, maintain structured data acquisition, troubleshoot the system and identify the root cause of technical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize LabView and ATI Vision software interfaces to control the Freevalve system inputs and outputs
  • Create and maintain structured data acquisition methods
  • Create documentation around test setup, procedure and test results with conclusions based off expected behavior and any deviations
  • Present test results to the team for feedback
  • Communicate directly with third parties to deliver test data for development support
  • Assist in customer delivery programs and on-site support on engine dyno or test vehicles

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (mechanical, mechatronics, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in testing and calibration environment
  • Comfortable reading, understanding and troubleshooting functions in C, C++ or similar
  • Experience with ATI Vision or similar
  • Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines
  • Thrive with large degrees of freedom, responsibility, and accountability
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in component testing and calibration environment
  • Some experience with vehicle software and hardware implementation
  • 3+ Years of experience in ATI Vision or similar
  • Hands-on experience with engine dyno/vehicle installations
  • Advanced knowledge of combustion engines and current technology
  • Some fabrication and manufacturing experience 
  • History of personal projects related to combustion engines
